Edge of the Is Sun Upgraded! Let’s Do Even More!

You did it! Edge of the Sun is now even bigger and better!
We’re adding 32 pages to Edge of the Sun, including additional adventure content, links to things you’ve seen in Into the Night, and connections to mysterious prior-world locations in the Ninth World including the Caecilian Jungle and Le Temple de Frogue.
Now we want to do this:
Much earlier in the campaign you unlocked a stretch goal for cardstock standups of Ninth World creatures and characters. We really love this idea, and we got a load of positive feedback. So let’s make it even better.
At $360,000 we’ll dramatically increase the number of creatures and characters in the standups set. And we'll physically improve the set itself—we’ll upgrade the standups from cardstock to double-sided, die-cut board stock.
Dozens and dozens of high quality, 28 mm, full color characters and creatures, with bases, ready for use on your game table. It’s like a big collection of minis—but without the painting!
And After That . . . ?
Things move quickly on the final day of a Numenera Kickstarter campaign. With everyone’s help spreading the word, we can reach this goal this afternoon. We have another product in mind, and we think we can make that happen, too! We’ll be revealing some information about it today, so stay tuned!

So what’s next?
We’ve already upgraded Liminal Shore and Voices of the Datasphere. Doing the same for Edge of the Sun seems like a natural step! With this stretch goal we will add an additional adventure involving exploring an ancient structure out in space, plus more details that link the locales in Edge of the Sun with the material in the existing sourcebook Into the Night, as well as how they all surprisingly connect to the locations in the Ninth World called Caecilian Jungle and Le Temple de Frogue.
We'll do this upgrade to Edge of the Sun at $340,000.
We currently have a little under 24 hours left in this campaign. We’re cruising right now, and it’s likely the pace will only increase tomorrow. We should be able to hit this and even more stretch goals—if and only if we can reach more backers. You can make that happen.

Break the Horizon is a vehicle and travel-focused hardcover sourcebook that adds mobility to your Numenera campaign and lets your gaming group explore more of the Ninth World. If you’re backing at INTO THE DATASPHERE, you’re now getting this in PDF as a reward. If you’re backing at ONTO LIMINAL SHORES or higher, you’re getting it in hardcover, and in PDF. Automagically!

In Numenera, exploration and risk are everything. Players earn experience points not for killing monsters, but for making discoveries and facing unexpected challenges. XP are most commonly granted during play, when you make a remarkable discovery or a GM intrusion comes your way. The Numenera XP Deck gives you a set of tangible tokens to represent experience points. They’re great for granting, tracking, and trading XP, and the card format makes those tokens easy to slip into your character portfolio for safekeeping between game sessions.
The original Numenera XP Deck has been around for years, and it does this job admirably. But what if it could be even more beautiful and useful? What if we could call upon seven years’ worth of stunning Ninth World artwork to not just make it an incredibly pretty addition to your game table, but also a source of inspiration for game ideas?
The new XP cards will be double-sided, with a unique piece of art on each face. So the 30-card deck will feature 60 individual illustrations. Most of the cards will be valued at 1 XP, but there will also be 4 XP cards for players who are banking XP for advancement.
We will unlock the beautiful new Numenera XP Deck at $320,000, and it will be part of your rewards in PDF if you’re backing at INTO THE DATASPHERE, and in print and PDF at ONTO LIMINAL SHORES and higher.
This is a pretty short stretch goal, and we could absolutely hit it today if we all spread the word. It’s not uncommon to hit several stretch goals in the final days of a Numenera Kickstarter campaign, and we have loads of ideas for more things we’d like to create or upgrade!
