Glimmer Burst!
over 4 years ago – Thu, Sep 12, 2019 at 01:11:49 AM

The datasphere is an information network left over from the prior worlds. Most people in the Ninth World cannot access it at will, but some receive very rare visions transmitted directly into their brains, seemingly at random. These are called glimmers, and their appearance is called a glimmer burst. Many glimmers are meaningless to the receiver, but occasionally valuable information can be gleaned from them. Sometimes, however, they need to be decoded first.

A glimmer burst has just happened. This is the glimmer you receive:

“Not the Steadfast”

If you want to try to make sense of that glimmer, access the datasphere at this vertice.

This is a repeat of a glimmer burst that occurred recently. If you didn't experience this glimmer burst before, don’t wait! Glimmer bursts rarely last long; this glimmer burst will be active for just six hours or so. This is a Kickstarter-exclusive opportunity, open to backers only.

Liminal Shore Is Upgraded! Now Let’s Make a New Book!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Sep 10, 2019 at 12:08:25 AM

Thanks to you, backers, we have just made Liminal Shore bigger! We’ve unlocked the stretch goal to increase this already hefty hardcover by 32 pages, bringing in new options for player characters based on the intelligent species found in the Liminal Shore, plus additional Liminal Shore locations, including one that ties directly into the Amber Monolith and the Obelisk of the Water God—two of the most iconic prior-world structures in Numenera.

This upgrade improves the rewards of every backer who gets Liminal Shore in print or PDF—which is virtually every backer of this campaign!

Who doesn't want to learn more about this iconic prior-world structure?

How Would You Like Another Book?

Let’s make another book, and add it to your rewards!

Break the Horizon will set you and your players free to explore even more of the Ninth World. It will be focused on vehicles, travel equipment, and related GM info and adventures. It will add greater levels of mobility to your Numenera campaign, with options and equipment that let you travel further and explore more. And it will include all the weirdness and prior-world wonder you might expect from travel options in the Ninth World.

At $305,000 we’ll add Break the Horizon, in PDF, to the rewards for the INTO THE DATASPHERE backer level—and in hardcover and PDF to ONTO LIMINAL SHORES and above.

It’s the Final Week—Let’s Hit Some Stretch Goals!

Things usually get pretty exciting in the final week. There are only five days left in this campaign, but if previous Kickstarters are a good indicator, we can hit not only this stretch goal, but probably several others. And we have lots of great ideas we can’t wait to share with you!

Spread the word. There are thousands of current Numenera fans who haven’t yet discovered this Kickstarter campaign—and tens of thousands of gamers who haven’t yet discovered Numenera. Only you can help us reach these gamers. Help them discover this campaign. Let’s unlock Break the Horizon, and move on to even more great stretch goals!

Character Standups Unlocked! Next: TWO Cool Stretch Goals
over 4 years ago – Mon, Sep 02, 2019 at 12:21:41 AM

Wow and congratulations! Your help spreading the word has really lit a fire under the Kickstarter over the past few days. And we have results to show for it: we’ve just unlocked the character and creature standups. We are now going to make this set of cardstock Ninth World characters and creatures for your gaming table. Everyone at the INTO THE DATASPHERE backer level will now get these, in PDF, as part of their rewards. Everyone at the ONTO LIMINAL SHORES level, and higher, will get it in print and PDF.

Look at all this great stuff we've funded so far!

Let’s Upgrade Liminal Shore

Earlier in the campaign we upgraded Voices of the Datasphere by 32 pages. Every backer who’s getting that book—and that’s almost everyone—is getting substantially more content as a result.

Now let’s do the same for Liminal Shore. At $265,000, we’ll increase the size of Liminal Shore by 32 pages. This new content will give you additional locations, including one that ties directly into the Amber Monolith and the Obelisk of the Water God—two of the most iconic prior-world structures in the Ninth World. Further, we'll include additional PC options for the species found in the Liminal Shore.

And After That: Another New Book!

How about another new hardcover? One that lets you and your players explore ever more of the Ninth World, with a focus on vehicles, travel equipment, and related GM info and adventures? Discover new horizons within the Ninth World and beyond with Break the Horizon, an entire hefty new book!

At $305,000 we’ll add Break the Horizon, in PDF, to the rewards for the INTO THE DATASPHERE backer level—and in hardcover and PDF to ONTO LIMINAL SHORES and above. This campaign is really starting to take off—and with it, the value of your pledge!

How Do We Get There?

Spread the word. There are thousands of current Numenera fans who haven’t yet discovered this Kickstarter campaign—and tens of thousands of gamers who haven’t yet discovered Numenera. Only you can help us reach these gamers. Remember you still have five days left to win a deluxe Numenera corebook set and Numenera Deck Boxdoing any or all of these things gives you a chance to win and helps spread the word about the campaign!

And Don’t Forget the Playmat!

Finally, in case you were offline over the weekend, here’s a reminder that we’ve decided to make a new playmat for Numenera. You can find all the details here. It’s available as an add-on now!
